| The 166 is my favourite Alfa, of course I'd prefer it with a high revving V6 petrol engine. But let's talk about this diesel one. The launch is quite lousy, the driver lifted off a bit in first. You should never do this. Always keep it spinning! Another problem is the overrevving, noticable even in first gear, but very prominent in 2nd gear. Just before the gearchange the engine's power output is about half of the maximum figure! |
