1/8 MILE RUNS
In Hungary dragracing is mostly over 1/8 mile, mostly because of the lack of suitable tracks.
Racing is more open this way, distance lost during a bad launch are harder to recover.

The turbocharged AWD 405 T16 is quite a rarity, so I was delighted that we managed to log one.
With its stock engine and slightly slipping clutch it doesn't take the tarmac to pieces, but still it managed a clean 9 sec 1/8 mile, which is never bad.

2008.10.19.

Just after the run-in period, probably this was the first real launch. It delivers the reference level of 0.5g, even a bit more. After the quite slow upshift it still spins the front tires in 2nd gear too for a whole second.
At the beginning of 3rd and 4th gear there's a suprising hole, perhaps electonic throttle body tries to save the transmisson?

2008.10.19.

2 liter 16v, rear wheel driver with LSD. Quite a good launch, hitting 0.6g almost instantly, and going up to 0.7g, where the lack of power prohibits further wheelspin. After the hard upshifts, there are big spikes in g. Obviously you should ignore these spikes in reading the otherwise nice power curve.

8, bigger than stock valves, modified ECU, cams from a naturally aspirated engine and a slipping clutch.
Not exactly a good launch for an AWD car, but still better than the average FWD.
After each gearchange, there is huge turbo lag, it takes more than a half second to spin the turbo back again.
