1/8 MILE RUNS
In Hungary dragracing is mostly over 1/8 mile, mostly because of the lack of suitable tracks.
Racing is more open this way, distance lost during a bad launch are harder to recover.

Click on the small chart to see them in bigger, with options to change rollout, tune it virtually, etc...

Pityukaaa's other 323 chassis (this is a green one) with a 1.8 liter V6 engine. Yes, 1.8 and 6 cylinders. It's from an MX-3, and it's one of the smallest mass produced V6 engines around. It one was rated 136HP when new, but it's now modded a bit. The exhaust system is fully open, the car is very loud.
The launch is quite OK, reaching 0.55g on cheap street tires is

The fastest VTI we have logged so far. And with street tires in winter. And it's not even tuned. The trick is the launch, which is pretty good, despite wheelspinning quite wildly in the first 1.5 seconds. The gearchanges are very fast & hard too, there's a bit of tire squeal even in 3rd gear.

The launch got slightly better, but it's still quite weak. The clutch only survived this start, the 2nd and 3rd attempts were much worse. It badly needs an uprated clutch cover, and it will improve quite a bit.
Of course the difference in the figures doesn't come from a slightly better launch, but from a chipped ECU.

Mercedes C36AMG (dkpisti)

It's a C36 AMG with automatic gearshifter. It's a nice stock car, but they modded something in the stock ecu. The start was not so bad, that was a simple full throttle without break. It has of course no shifting time and it has very healthy performance graph. On the higher rpm the power is bigger evenly.

Peugeot 205 2.0 8v turbo (sleepwalker)

2008.10.24.

It's got a quite rare 2.0 liter 8v turbo engine from a Pug 406 (XE10 2TE engine) On paper it was 150 HP originally, this one obviously more powerful, having 150 HP at the wheels.
First gear was shifted a bit too early, and the shift into 5th was slugghish, but otherwise it's a solid run.

2006.02.06.

Four doors, rear wheel drive. The car itself certainly past its best years (or are they yet to come?), but the engine still delivers.
The launch is not so bad except for the first second. Considering the old, summer tires and the freezin cold, it did quite well, altough a clever driver was needed for this sort of traction. Other attempts were a second slower to 100 kph (62 mph)
It's a very 'clean' run from 2nd gear on.

Tököl, 2005.08.06.

The biggest problem here is the misshift into 3rd gear. As he only reached 99 km/h in 2nd gear, the 0-100 km/h figure looses more than a second compared to what could have been possible.
The other problem is the launch. On slicks, this is disappointing.
Still, the run is still ranked high among the rest of the VTI gang we have logged so far. Mainly because its lighter weight.

Renault 5 1.7i turbo

2006.12.02.

A Renault 5 with a Renault engine from a Volvo 480 turbo. It's a 1.7 liter OHC engine with 8 valves and electronic fuel injection.
Unfortunately the turbo which was in the car is way too small for an engine this size. In 2nd gear it's clearly loosing around 40 WHP as the revs climb up.
