1/8 MILE RUNS
In Hungary dragracing is mostly over 1/8 mile, mostly because of the lack of suitable tracks.
Racing is more open this way, distance lost during a bad launch are harder to recover.

Bone stock VTI, one of the lowest milage ones in Hungary, as it was held in a garage for years without use. Considering the street tires, the launch is quite good, only the first few tenths could be better. Acceleration level grow continously as the speed difference between the spinning tires and the tarmac decreased. The G might have only stopped climbing because the engine ran out of power at the 2.5 second mark, tires found grip, thus the revs dropped a bit.

This one is more show than go. Stock engine, slightly slippy clutch. Strange, but power output drops throughout the run, it's getting weaker and weaker in every gear for some unknown reason.

The fastest naturally aspirated Lada we have logged so far. It's quite powerful, and it has a pretty good launch, especially considering it does not have a limited slip diff. It is in full street trim, it's quite heavy.

This is one of the worst launches I've ever logged! :)
After the first second's wheelspin the driver lifted off for a bit, but the engine couldn't make boost and power at low revs, so the rest of the first gear was a struggle. Too bad, the power output is quite impressive for a small engine.

Another Focus ST, this one is completely standard. Traction is quite all right, it holds acceleration above 0.5 g nicely. As there is no significant power and weight difference compared to the other ST, even the trap speeds are quite similar. The difference in the ET comes from the other car's mistake in first gear.
While the shift points differ, I think it's just caused by shifting up at slightly lower revs. 4th gear is selected at around the same speed on both cars.

Stock, with a little bit of weightsaving. The launch is just about acceptable for a rear wheel drive car, but of course this car doesn't have an LSD. If power output would have been higher, probably the g curve could keep climbing a bit more before the gear shift.
The longer than usual peaks after the gearchanges are probably caused by the slightly slipping clutch. Sometimes a little slip can help!
