1/8 MILE RUNS
In Hungary dragracing is mostly over 1/8 mile, mostly because of the lack of suitable tracks.
Racing is more open this way, distance lost during a bad launch are harder to recover.

The Hachirokus are not famous for their drag ability, and this one is no exception.
The launch is weak, possibly hurted by the very firm suspension. The hard shocks caused quite a bumpy ride in each gear, the chainsaw g curve is quite easy to spot. As the revs climbed the ride got much smoother, most notably in 3rd gear. (Change to 1/4 mile view to see)
We logged another Hachi earlier, that one was a good 100 kg heavier, and was only slower compared to this because of its extra weight. This one is noticably weaker. (compare green lines)

Just over 1000 miles on the clock, already matching factory performance figures. The 0.5g acceleration in first gear is held precisely, like it was a computer controlling it on the limit. The power curse is quite flat as well, at least in 3rd gear.

Considering it's almost 2 tons, it did quite well.
With its automatic gearbox acceleration is very soft, the g-curve is soo smooth...
The power curve is almost flat all through the quarter mile, this is quite rare too.
By the way, it was a power start. The driver built some revs and boost with the footbrakes on, and only released the pedal when the rear wheels were already rotating.
Otherwise the feel is even smoother, but the results suffer.

Very good launch on street tires! Unfortunately second gear only streched to 99.6 km/h, 7.6 seconds would have been enough if 2nd gear was held on a wee bit longer.
