1/8 MILE RUNS

In Hungary dragracing is mostly over 1/8 mile, mostly because of the lack of suitable tracks.
Racing is more open this way, distance lost during a bad launch are harder to recover.

	We logged this car again. The power chart shows a little power hike, which is strange, as nothing changed. Perhaps the intercooler was colder this time. The start got a little better as well, but it's still far from ideal, strangely pulling itself up from very low traction.

	This 2.5 liter turbo Forester was just over the run-in period, so no wonder it's not a full-out launch effort. Still the AWD system shows its capabilities.

	Quite a rare sight, in fact this is the first one I saw, as far as I can remember. Unfortunately the semi slick tires didn't quite gave enough grip on the dusty tarmac. First gear was held a bit too long, you can clearly see that it pulled higher Gs in the 2nd gear. Power output fades as a bit toward the end of the rev range, but it's nothing major.

	This time with about 90 kg less weight (stripped inside, just one seat) and with slick track tires we logged the car during race conditions. First gear traction improved thanks to the tires and the grippy concrete surface. The improvement of the trap speeds are all down to the lower weight.

	It's 4 wheel drive, but it's the easygoing type. :) It's a clutch slipping start, and the engine does not have enough power enough to pull big g this way.

	A little too soft start, but in overall first gear was as much limited by power as by traction. It wasn't spinning the tires, it pulled this off from power. It has nice, long gears, second is topping well beyond 100 km/h. In second gear the power curve shows it's high peaking nature quite nicely, only flattens for the very last bit before the next gear.
