Quite a good getaway while the power was enough to keep the tires spinning. The gear changes are quick and hard, this is quite a good run.
Would third gear have been enough to reach the quarter mile finish line, the trap speed would have been around 2 km/h faster.

2006.05.18.

A modded diesel, chipped, running a bigger turbo, nothing too extreme, but it goes quite well.
Traction is a bit lower than the average FWD car, but the result is still quite good.

2011.10.15.

The car has a new 2.0 16V engine and a long diesel gearshifter. It's interesting, the car can only 98 km/h in second gear, and the third gear can almost 150 Km/h. This is not too good construction. If he use the stock turbo, i think it can run better results. The start was not bad, because the weather was a bit cool, and the shifts was good also.

Kiskunlacháza, 2008.09.27.

It's not an origial G13B engine, but a build based on an SOHC 8valver. It's modded too and chipped. Luckily we logged the car's best run of the day, just missing his personal best by .02 seconds!
Officially it was timed 15.81 @138 km/h, our log matches is quite closely with the rollout set to 12".

It's quite a new model. It seems even VAG realized there is not much need for the 5th valve, this engine has 16valves in total and it's a bit more powerful too.
Unfortunately it was starting to rain when we logged this run, and the later attempts to better this were hopeless with the wetter and wetter tarmac.

2007.07.13.

3.8 liter, V6, compressor, 230 bhp on paper.
This example even has a little more on top of that.
The soft automatic doesn't allow smoking tire launches. Acceleration is nice and steady, but not that intense.

Kiskunlacháza, 2008.02.23.

2007 year model GL 420 with Brabus performance tuning. According to the spec sheet power is up from 306 to 350 HP, torque up from 700 to 800 Nm.
This run was made in huge tail wind, consider this when you look at the wheel power chart.
The hyper modern 7 speed auto box is reluctant to allow a power start. While we tried to rev the car up before letting off the brakes, the clever ECU didn't want to surprise the passangers. The launch is very soft, it takes around half a second to cover the first 12". I have posted a funny onboard video in my blog.
