1/8 MILE RUNS

In Hungary dragracing is mostly over 1/8 mile, mostly because of the lack of suitable tracks.
Racing is more open this way, distance lost during a bad launch are harder to recover.

	A modern TFSI engined Skoda Octavia seems a little more powerful than it should be according to the factory. Either that, or its weight is less, than the owner thinks. The start is very soft, still it broke traction too easily. From the first gearchange on there's nothing special to talk about. It goes as it can. :)

	The car has something engine tuning in principle, what we can't see on the performance graph. But we can see that modification, the car use a very long diesel gearshifter, but i don't know why changed they that. The start can be better, but that was totally avarage in this cooly weather and the shifts was good.

	Very nice flat g curves in each gear even in first! The start is nice, good attack with a long sustain. :) The only negative comment I can write is about the slow gearchanges. Don't know it it's the car or the driver.

	The new 5 cylinder turbocharged Volvo engine is chipped in this new ST. The car also has a Quaife differential, so it's quite far from stock. The launch was quite bad, it bogged down in all three attempts, the other two was even worse than this. It might be caused by the power limit in effect in the first two gears, or maybe a traction control system.
