1/8 MILE RUNS

In Hungary dragracing is mostly over 1/8 mile, mostly because of the lack of suitable tracks.
Racing is more open this way, distance lost during a bad launch are harder to recover.

	The first hybrid vehicle we have logged. In short for those who still don't know that a hybrid is. There is an internal combustion engine (a gasoline V6 in this caes), and also there is an electric motor. (in this case two - front and rear) There is also a huge battery for the electric motors and the very clever ECU decidedes which motors do what. There's a nice flash anim describing everything, if you're interested. But let's see this log! This was a power start, meaning that the V6 engine was already running when the car started the quarter mile. Thanks to its planetary gearbox there is no gearshifts to hinder the acceleration, it's smooth and continous throughout the whole distance. The power curve is also dead flat. It's a very confortable ride. We also did a run with the V6 not running before the launch, I'll publish it soon too.

	Quite a unique car, only around 100 were turbo converted by Horag. After a soft start, it pulls with the reference level 0.5g. In both 2nd and 3rd gears, there a small hitch in acceleration, but I don't know what caused it.

	An almost stock Swift, with a loud exhaust, with a partly stripped interior (just one seat). The launch is fantastic especially considering that the run was on cheap 155/80R13 tires. The gearshifts are very fast as well, all in all it's a very good run.

	The car got a new exhaust system and a new clutch. No wonder, the clutch is not splipping, the tires do. :) With these street tires it results in a worse start! But the engine is producing a little extra power and it helps to pull back the deficitit. In fact the 1/8 and 1/4 figures improved quite significantly. Worth checking the virtual race between the two logs.
