1/8 MILE RUNS
In Hungary dragracing is mostly over 1/8 mile, mostly because of the lack of suitable tracks.
Racing is more open this way, distance lost during a bad launch are harder to recover.

2008.07.11.

The previously logged RX400h was a 2006 model, this one is brand new, 2008. Of course there were no big changes made, Lexus focused on optimizing the hybrid drive. There's not a lot difference between the two cars, as you can see on the virtual race chart. diagramon is jól látszik. They go almost exactly the same, except for the range between 30 and 70 km/h, where the newer car builds up a little speed advantage. This results in around 6 meters of distance between the two cars in a quarter mile. That's not a lot.

Kiskunlacháza, 2006.08.20.

A very rare car with a 2.4 liter inline-5 engine.
Unfortunately it was a rolling start, in the first tenths the car didn't acceleration as fast as it could.
From then on it's quite a clean run.

2007.04.21.

Enermous turbo lag in 2nd and 3rd gear, in fact it's so big, I wonder if it's normal or there was a split boost hose or something. There is a spike after the gearchanges, but afterwards power output plumets to well below 100WHP, less than half of the max output.
Crazy stuff. It wasn't shifted too early or anything. We also tried it twice, the other run was very similar with slightly worse results. Still, considering its a big saloon car, the figures are quite nice.

A good start from this front wheel drive Leon.
There is a little bit of hesitation after each gear change, but apart from that, the curves are very nice.

Kiskunlacháza, 2006.08.19.

We logged this car beforehand about 2 yeas ago.
Now on the stickier concrete track of the Kiskunlacháza airfield it produced a noticably better start.
The ET improvements were also supported by the weight reductionr through removal of the rear seats.

2005.10.12.

A promising package on paper: 4.9 liter turbocharged V8 engine, rear wheel drive. But as it's more of an 'eco' than a performance engine, it's quite tame to tell the truth. 210 HP is not quite enough to haul almost 2 tons. Not even the convincing 500 Nm torque figure helps. The launch is elegant, there's no tire shredding here. The auto gearbox is amazing as usual, you have to use a magnifying glass to recognise the shift points. (at around 65 and 100 km/h)
Soon the car will get a new engine, a proper big block. We will log it again as soon as possible.

2007.05.31.

The driver was a bit over cautious, and to prevent excessive wheelspin he applied to little power after the launch, so the car bogged down quite a bit.
But the big engine helped to pull it out quite soon.
(Either that or anti slip system was left on.)
