1/8 MILE RUNS

In Hungary dragracing is mostly over 1/8 mile, mostly because of the lack of suitable tracks.
Racing is more open this way, distance lost during a bad launch are harder to recover.

	It's a 94' Suzuki Swift 1.3 8v. I don't have too much informations about the car, but it has more power, than the stock. If he use better tyres, and shifts faster, he can run much better results.

	In started as a promising start, but as the wheels started to sqeak the driver lifted off, so acceleration suffered badly. It's even worse launch that Yesterday's Uno's. As with most modern diesels, the gearbox ratios are very short, hitting 100 km/h (62 mph) only in 4th gear.

	1983 model, officially it was 150PS with a 10.7sec 0-100km/h time. Even with the tailwind, we could not match these numbers. Of course it's not slow by any means, especially compared to the era's average cars.

	We have logged another Volvo with the same engine (an 850), but this one is newer, lighter, and its engine's power output is significantly better, especially considering higher transmission losses thanks to its auto gearbox. The big spikes after the gearchanges were a surprise to me, first I thought they are caused by the sport mode, but in economy it was exactly the same.

	The stock 1.6 liter engine doesn't like high revs, as you can see, power output drops significantly. Gearchanges are quite slow. The launch is terrible especially for a rear wheel drive car.
