I guess your trap speed of 127 is in MPH? Can you correct it please, it should be entered in km/h. (=204km/h)
If it's really 127mph, how come the ET is 12.6?
If you have drag racing related items for sale (from complete race cars to used drag tires) please do put them on the classifeds page for sale. (http://timeslip.hu/hirdetesek.php?lang=english)
Indeed, the dragracing.hu series use the same timing system as the Croatians.
It might be a different setup, Race America has different models, but the basic hardware is the same.
I guess you forgot to click on the thumbnails after uploading them.
The way uploading or hotlinking works, is that you select the pictures, upload them, then position the cursor in the edit box where you want the picture to appear, then click on the thumbnail you want there, continue with the next one, etc.
Anyway, I did found two of the pics you uploaded in the upload folder, but one of them is very very small. Here are they:
The term "pro tree" refers to the professional racing mode, where all the yellows come up at the same time and there's only 0.4 seconds between the yellows and the green.
What you have is called "sportsman tree".
The actual hardware is the same for both, just the light's activations differs.
If you have a net time (ET) of 11.74 then modify your profile accordingly. If you know your 1/4 mile trap speed as well, entering that will enable showing your time under your avatar, like my 12.88 @ 175, for example.
Just as Falco said, try to keep it clear.
ET stands for the time which is elapsed between activting the start photocells and reaching the finish beam.
We use the terms 'net' and 'gross' times for clear understanding what are we talking about.
net stands for ET, gross is ET + reaction time.
Talking gross times is pretty pointless, these number do not tell anything. If you have a gross time of 12.6 it can be an ET of 11.6 and a reaction time of 1.0 seconds, or it can be a 12.0 with a 0.6 seconds reaction.
Especially if the reaction time is timed from the first yellow showing, like you have it in Croatia.
Your perfect reaction time is 0.5, while in our systems it's 0.0.
As for your car, yep, please do upload a few pics, to this thread. Our main interest would be under the skin photos, of course, perhaps some you took while building.
Do you know the Duck's 1/4 mile trap speed?
Both Hungarian racing organizations time quite professionally. It was a constant issue for a few years, but now we have proper prestage, stage, guard beams, 60', 1/8 mile, we get detailed timeslip for all the runs, and I put all data on this website: http://timeslip.hu/verseny.php
ET timing starts when the car rolls out the stage beam or hits the guard, whichever is first.
And yes, we have reaction times, as you can see on the DragBase listing too.
We have qualifying for most of the day, say from 10am to 5pm, then the organizers build an 8 car ladder and 1st vs 8th, 2th vs 7th, etc...
Reaction time doesn't count during qualifying, only during the finals.
Wow, I wish I won the Croatian Championship instead of the Hungarian. 8000 Euro ain't bad!
As for the race 500 Euro is also very nice, the most we could race for 200 Euro for each category winner, but usually it was around 120 Euros for the winners 80 for runner up, 40 € for the 3rd places.
Your money prizes are very compelling to say the least, I guess you might see a number of Hungarian cars going there.
As for our tracks, check out some of my videos.
The two main tracks are Tokol and Kiskunlachaza. There're a few other places as well, either similar to the main tracks or a little worse. Basically old Russian military airfields, very wide conrete blocks, very good quality.
Download the two latest vids, they show each tracks quite well. http://timeslip.hu/videok.php
There are major changes coming in 2008. There're two racing series competing, as of today there are some legal issues. We'll see in time.
As there're new regulations coming for 2008 they're not available in English as far as I know.
But generally speaking, yes you can race your car in Hungary. You need to have license, though, which will cost around 60-100 Euro.
Big engined turbo RWD cars were a bit rare this year, but I guess there'll be more and more.
In the Dragracing.hu series your car would race against anything which is 2.1 liter or more, RWD or AWD. Fastest Hungarian time in this category would be a 9.8 for an AWD Audi.
In the other series, futam.hu your car would race against RWD cars only, with any forced induction car engine above 1550 ccm. Fastest would be a Fiat X 1/9 with a 10.89.
Your car seems very unique, can we find more information about it (and pictures) somewhere on the web? btw. Where are you from?
There are a number of clips on youtube from others, but do not expect a big video here anytime soon.
I have quite a big latency, now working on the King Of Europe vid.
Amazing with a melted pison you still did a respectable speed.
But the 13.9 suggests it is a dodgy reading, 1000' ET is good enough for a low 13 at that speed.
Nice to see you here.
How come you don't have a Q/M ET and trap entered? You have plenty of timeslips of very fast runs, even if you expect lot more this year.
I love the flying tire at 3:10, it was probably rotating at 500+ km/h when it took off. Still, it's amazing how high and far it did fly... I wonder what damage had it done in the car park.
As for captioning of horsepower, it would be just a guesswork. Although I logged quite a few cars they do change constantly, so even the a 1-2 months old HP figure could be false. And there is a number of cars I'm yet to measure.
Those captioned time and speed figures are the actual official timing results from their timeslips.
As for your results - with good tires a high 13 is quite possible, but a low 14 sec is definetely there for grasp.
Using this thread will help you avoid reading Hungarian posts.
Anything which might be connected with you, non-Hungarian should be posted here.
That means if anybody wants to ask you a question will post here.
Also, if you have something to say, do it here! English speaking members will surely follow this thread as well.
Still, you might find it usefull to browse the other topics, for example to see embedded pictures and videos.
Have fun!
