| The car improved a lot since the previous log we did in 2005. It gained a nice chunk of power, lost a lot of weight, but the biggest difference is the launch. The very small diameter Avon slicks fit the car very well, power output in first gear reaches the same maximum as in 2nd gear. This is quite rare with fast FWD cars. Traction is impressive, the car can pull 1.9 sec 60 feets on our ordinary (non-prepped) concrete tracks. The gearbox is a very special one. It's madness, but 4th gear barely drop 200-300 rpm! (hundreds not thousands!) As you can see this results in significant overrevving and loss of power, certainly a longer 4th would improve the cars's performance |
